2-20-06 A Baker's Dozen

I write for
the sake of writing
pure expression
creative outlet
the sensual feel of word
upon word
the elegance of language
to provoke thought
evoke a response
impress friends
astound strangers
for insight and clarity
because my head
will explode if the noise
has no outlet.

I write
because I cannot
NOT write
because I am me.
